Houston, Texas (June 25, 2013) The Red House at 3323 Bissonnet was transformed into a relaxing spa filled with excited teen moms last Thursday night kicking off LifeLine, LifeHouse’s outreach center for pregnant and parenting teens in the Houston community.
“LifeLine allows LifeHouse to reach out into the community and truly fill a need by providing much needed support to young mothers in a unique way,” said Advancement Director Courtney Abernethy. LifeHouse has 25 years experience working with teen moms by providing housing to young women ages 12-24 who face an unplanned pregnancy on their two home campus situated in South Houston. “It seemed like a natural step in the right direction to open an outreach center in response to the hundreds of intake calls we receive from young women in need of services but not housing,” said Abernethy
Spa Night proved to be a smashing success with several teen moms enjoying spa treatments and girl talk with loving volunteers. Each girl took home tons of love along with spa surprises.
The mission of LifeLine is to encourage young mothers and their children to achieve independence through support services by addressing all of her needs: spiritual, emotional, educational, vocational, skills and community while recognizing her full potential. Services offered are case management, spiritual, educational, vocational, life skills/parenting workshops, computer training, counseling, life coaching and community.
LifeHouse is a Christian ministry that provides safe housing, prenatal care, counseling and support for young women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. LifeHouse is a not-for-profit charitable IRS 501(c)(3) status. Visit us at www.LifeHouseHouston.org
