Valerie holds Brayden while Jordyn is excited to receive her new computer for school

Jordyn lived at LifeHouse in early 2015. Director of Social Services/LifeLine, Valerie Humes, asked Jordyn to write down her thoughts on her time here and this is what she had to say:

Dear Reader,

A little over a year ago when I found myself in the middle of an unplanned pregnancy, LifeHouse became my safe haven. Right before I came to LifeHouse, I was at a place in my life that was not adequate enough for a child. I was not mentally or physically ready. I was in a panicked state of mind.

LifeHouse saw past my outside and saw the good of my situation, and that is what I truly appreciate the most. While I was there I learned several things important for a happy and healthy future for my son and me. LifeHouse gave me the opportunity and time to be able to pursue things that I would have never been able to do if I weren’t there.

I am forever grateful to LifeHouse for what they have done for my son and me. Currently, I am going to school full time at Houston Community College, and hoping to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology. My son Brayden is 9 months now and is a happy and healthy baby. He is the joy of my life and my reason for persevering. Thank you, LifeHouse!

Sincerely, Jordyn

Please keep Jordyn in your prayers as she pursues her degree and continues to grow into motherhood with ease and grace.
