LIFEHOUSE GAINS A NEW HOME

INTRODUCING THE MARIETTA HOME

For the last 30 years, LifeHouse has given hope to women in unplanned pregnancies through residential housing of expecting moms. However, recently, the ministry has identified the need for women working toward furthering their education to have support beyond the nine months during her pregnancy. For this reason, LifeHouse opened an “aftercare” home in the Third Ward in December for two women and their newborns to live in for up to one year post birth.

The home aptly named “Marietta” which means “Little Mary,” interviews eligible candidates in the maternity program who wish to continue to be discipled in the faith, and desire to move beyond an hourly paying job. Women also receive help in proper bonding with their child, and the baby’s development is tracked as well.

Blossom, a current Marietta Home resident, says she feels blessed that she has found a “safe environment” for her and her new baby girl, Kamori. She will begin school soon to become a certified paramedic.
