HELP | TRUST-BASED RELATIONAL INTERVENTION®

STAFF TRAINED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF RESIDENTS COMING OUT OF TRAUMA

30% of LifeHouse residents come from prostitution and sex-trafficking.
30% of residents come from the foster care system.
All LifeHouse residents experience trauma before their arrival.

In the past year, LifeHouse has adopted a therapeutic approach called “Trust-Based Relational Intervention” (TBRI) that helps staff connect with residents from hard places. The therapeutic approach uses empowering principles to address physical and emotional needs. Specifically, the staff is trained on how to connect through relationship and correct through disarming fear-based behaviors.

What does this mean for LifeHouse? A trusted connection between the resident and her house mother becomes the highest priority. Using this approach, heart change happens in the lives of LifeHouse residents.
