F A Q
What can I bring with me?
We have limited space in each bedroom. You will be provided a closet, dresser, and drawer to store your personal belongings. Common areas in the LifeHouse home such as the kitchen and living room are fully furnished and completely stocked for your use! LifeHouse will also provide your bedding and bath needs.
How do I apply?
Complete the online application under our “get help” page. A LifeHouse team member will reach out within 2 hours of receiving your completed form. If you have a question regarding this process, please contact (713) 623-2120.
I already have a child. Can I bring him/her with me?
If the child is in your care, we unfortunately are not equipped to house children in our maternity home.
Can my family and friends visit me?
Yes! Shortly after you move in you our staff will help coordinate on or offsite visits.
How long can I stay at LifeHouse?
Most pregnant women stay until the delivery of the baby. However, we also have an aftercare home for new moms that you may apply to live in for up to 14 months after your child is born.
What if I have more questions?
Any questions you have regarding the application process or resident life, please call us at 713.623.2120.
Where will I deliver? Can my family be with me?
You are welcome to deliver with your current doctor. If you are not currently under the care of an OB/GYN, LifeHouse will help connect you with medical care. Your family is welcome to come to the hospital and visit with you and the baby if you would like.
How many residents can stay at the home?
We can house up to ten residents and three babies across our two homes. The maternity home can house up to seven pregnant women. The aftercare home can house up to three women and three newborns.
If I come to LifeHouse, do I have to place my baby for adoption?
No. Parenting or placing for adoption is your decision. However, we encourage you to be open minded and learn about all your viable options.
Do you provide a place for my baby and me to live after my baby is born?
We do not provide a place, but we have a LifeLine coach onsite that will help you plan your next steps and assist with additional housing programs.
